Usability & Reflection
Usability testing plays a crucial role in evaluating and enhancing digital learning platforms. This reflection focuses on the usability testing conducted for the LIM ePortfolio course, designed to support administrators and teachers in managing student learning. The goal was to assess how effectively the platform met their needs, identify usability challenges, and implement improvements based on feedback. By involving educators in the testing process, we aimed to refine the course structure, enhance accessibility, and streamline administrative tasks. This report outlines the key findings, lessons learned, and changes made to optimize the user experience.
Usability testing plays a crucial role in evaluating and enhancing digital learning platforms. Ensuring that a platform is intuitive and functional for its primary users—administrators and teachers—is essential for fostering an efficient and effective learning environment. This reflection focuses on the usability testing conducted for the LIM ePortfolio course, designed to support administrators and teachers in managing student learning and assessment.
The usability testing aimed to assess how effectively the platform met the needs of educators, identify usability challenges, and implement improvements based on feedback. By involving educators in the testing process, we sought to refine the course structure, enhance accessibility, and streamline administrative tasks. Given that educators rely on digital tools for lesson planning, student engagement, and progress tracking, it was critical to ensure that the LIM ePortfolio course was both user-friendly and aligned with instructional goals.
Through structured usability testing sessions, we gathered insights into navigation, assessment tools, and overall platform functionality. We also examined how educators interacted with the system and identified barriers that could hinder their ability to use the platform effectively. This report outlines the key findings, lessons learned, and changes made to optimize the user experience, ultimately contributing to a more seamless integration of technology in the educational process.
