Abstract

ePortfolios have become a significant tool in elementary education, providing a digital platform for students, teachers, and parents (or guardians) to document, reflect on, and exhibit learning accomplishments. This review delves into the various roles of ePortfolios in educational environments, combining current research to emphasize their influence on student learning. Key aspects include using ePortfolios to enhance reflective practices and metacognitive skills, encourage personalized and student-focused learning experiences, and facilitate assessment methods that prioritize genuine, constructive feedback. Moreover, the review addresses challenges and considerations related to implementation, such as technological infrastructure, digital literacy, and concerns regarding parent and family engagement. By analyzing empirical studies and theoretical frameworks, this review adds to a better comprehension of how ePortfolios can effectively bolster educational objectives and cultivate a culture of continuous enhancement in diverse educational settings.
