Action Research Plan: Implementing LIM ePortfolios
This action research study explores the integration of Leader in Me (LIM) eportfolios in grades 3rd through 5th to enhance student agency, leadership development, and assessment practices. Grounded in the COVA (Choice, Ownership, Voice, and Authenticity) learning model and self-regulated learning theory, the project seeks to move beyond traditional assessment by promoting more personalized and reflective learning experiences. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study analyzes quantitative data from surveys and rubrics through descriptive statistics and paired t-tests to measure student growth, while qualitative data from interviews, focus groups, and student reflections will be thematically coded to identify patterns in voice, goal-setting, and leadership. The ultimate aim is to create more equitable and student-centered learning environments through the sustainable and scalable use of digital portfolios.
